Flights to Leticia, Colombia

Leticia, the capital of the Colombian state of Amazonas, is a small city of about 35,000 that lies on the southeast border of Colombia, about 3,000 kilometres upstream along the Amazon River.

This small town is the tourist centre of the country’s remote Amazon region. The town itself is fairly ordinary but the surrounding area is dense rainforest dotted with Ticuna and Yagua settlements. Popular trips go to Pargue Nacional Amacayucu, 75 km upstream, where there are waling trails through the forest, and the Lago the Tarapoto, a beautiful lake featuring the famous Victoria Amazonica waterlily and occasional sighttingls of pink dolphins.

This is the gateway to Colombia's Amazon rainforest, and there are jungle lodges and rainforest tours provided.

As the town is located at the junction of the Colombian, Brazilian and Peruvian borders, it is possible to get a boat from here down the Amazon River to Brazil and Peru.

Leticia’s Aeropuerto Internacional Vásquez Cobo is 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) from town centre. Copa Airlines Colombia has got daily flights to Leticia and Bogotá.
