Colombia's second city, Medellin, is an beautiful town in the Aburra Valley is possibly best known for the culture , happy people, its gardens and flowers. This extremely attractive town serves as the industrial and commercial centre for the surrounding region of Antioquia.

Medellin has a very pleasant climate all year round and has been named the 'City of Eternal Spring'. Unfortunately none of the original colonial architecture remains but there are some beautiful churches in the centre of town including the Basilica de la Candelaria.

Now a city of modern buildings and sculptures it enjoys great cultural activities enhanced by the presence of universities, museums and theatres. Medellin has excellent shopping centres and department stores too.

The Modern Art Museum houses many contemporary pieces, and the Zea Museum is home to a valuable historical archive and collections donated by Fernando Botero.

Take a visit up to Nutibara Hill - a great place to get a view of this beautiful city.

Flights to Medellin with Copa Airlines Colombia

Medellín has two airports. The new José María Córdoba airport, 35km southeast of the city, near the town of Rionegro, takes all international and most domestic flights to Medellin, except for some flights on light planes which use the old Olaya Herrera airport right inside the city.

Copa Airlines Colombia is operating flights to Medellin, San Andres, Panama and Bogota.
